I am glad to announce that my team Team_Khita_Kortesi is the 1st Runners up at the United International University Inter University NLP Competition "ভাষামূল: মুখের ভাষার খোঁজে" organized by Bengali.AI, UIU Computer Club. From February 8th to February 20th, 2024, the competition unfolded on Kaggle, with the onsite event held on March 1st and 2nd, 2024, at UIU, witnessing enthusiastic participation from institutions across Bangladesh(64 Competitors, 39 Teams, 450 Entries in Kaggle). I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my teammates Nazmus Sakib Ahmed bhai and Ashraful Islam Shanto bhai from the IIT DU 11th Batch. The name "Team_Khita_Kortesi" pays homage to the mother language of one of our team members, symbolizing the cultural diversity within our team and our shared pride in our linguistic heritage. I got appreciation from my teammates for hardwork during the contest, and from judges for exceptional presentation! Throughout the 20-day competition, Team_Khita_Kortesi tackled the challenges with innovation and ingenuity, employing a T5 model along with specialized preprocessing and post-processing techniques to address the complexities of IPA transcription of Bengali text with regional dialects. I extend my sincerest thanks to the organizers, judges, and fellow participants for fostering an environment conducive to learning and collaboration.
