Shared Progress on SmartMedicalCenter Project
November 25, 2023I am excited to share the progress and achievements of our team's (Me and Mehadi Hasan Santo) hard work on the "SmartMedicalCenter" project at "CSE 3216: Software Design Pattern Lab"! Project Overview: Web-Based Hospital Management System which aim is to digitize and streamline the Medical Center of Dhaka University, making it paperless and easily accessible. Empowering admins, doctors, and patients to manage and access patient data securely and efficiently. Project Objectives: Specific: Develop a fully paperless web-based hospital management system. Measurable: Track system usage, transaction processing, and user satisfaction. Achievable: Realistic scope with a team experienced in web applications. Relevant: Aligned with the needs of the Medical Center for efficient patient data management. Time-bound: Completion within 3 months. Functional Features: Admin Features: - Sign up, login, approve/reject doctors, admit/discharge patients. - Generate/download invoice PDFs (partial), view/book/approve appointments (partial). Doctor Features: - Apply for a job, login after admin approval. - View assigned patient details, discharged patients list, and booked appointments. - Delete attended appointments. Patient Features: - Create an account, login after admin approval. - View assigned doctor details, appointment status, and book appointments. - View/download invoice PDFs after admin discharge. Design Patterns Implemented: - Singleton Design Pattern: Appointment Handling and Contact Us Handling. - Singleton Meta Class: Ensures only one instance of certain classes is created. - Strategy Pattern: Department Information Handling. - Factory Design Pattern: Document Handling. - Mix of Strategy and Factory: Person Handling. - Facade Design Pattern: Patient Information Handling. - Command Design Pattern: Role Checking. Technical Stack: Python, HTML, CSS, Django, xhtml2pdf. Further Contribution: The SmartMedicalCenter project is not just a concept; it's a reality in motion. By leveraging design patterns and cutting-edge technology, we aim to revolutionize healthcare services. We made it public and I want to invite interested developers to work on the project!
